The digital microscope has the capability to measure grain size analysis, layer thickness, phase analysis and particle size analysis.
The microscope will be utilized in science classrooms and the vocational areas and is aiding to transform the learning environment for our students.

The faculty and staff at Rockridge High School have selected Teresa Harris as the September Student of the Month. Ms. Harris is a senior at Rockridge High School and is the daughter of Emily & Robert Hartwick of Andalusia.
Teresa reports that science teacher Mr. Wade is her favorite teacher. She is active on the Rockridge “Rockettes” Dance Team and the Girls’ Track Team, where she broke the school record in the Triple Jump last spring and was an IHSA State Meet Qualifier. Teresa also participates in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Gray Matters Collective, and the National Honor Society. Outside of school, she is active at the Turning Pointe Dance Studio and is employed at Whitey’s. She attends Milan Christian Church and reports that in her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends and going to the gym.
Teresa’s teachers had the following to say about her Student of the Month selection:
- Social Studies Teacher Mrs. Brandee Neece stated, “This year, Teresa is on the leadership committee of the Rockridge Gray Matters Collective, but she has been an active member of this organization since its inception. She has been instrumental in attending events sponsored by the larger Gray Matters Collective so that she can mentor younger members of our leadership committee and the group as a whole. She is coordinator of our Instagram page and has been instrumental in personally inviting and reaching out to freshmen in the hopes of getting them to attend a meeting and then hopefully get involved in the greater organization. A goal of hers is to make the community involved in gaining an understanding as to what Gray Matters stands for and to bring awareness of the importance and value of good mental health for all ages. Her grades are excellent and she is a very eloquent speaker in the classroom. She is definitely a leader not only within her senior class, but within the Rockridge culture in general.”
- Spanish Teacher Mrs. Joy Carter added, “Teresa has always been an outstanding student in Spanish. Besides being at the top of her class, she always has a great attitude and is eager to participate in class. I hope she continues studying Spanish in college because she is very talented!”
- Science Teacher Mr. Joel Wade said, “Teresa Harris is a bright and thoughtful student. She consistently asks questions and ponders the reasons behind events in class. Teresa is a very polite and thoughtful student, always the first to greet someone.”
- Girls’ Track Coach Ms. Jacqy Peterson said, “I love having her on the track team. We wouldn’t have had the same success without Teresa’s efforts on and off the field. She is a great teammate who encourages everyone and wants to compete and help the team in any manner possible.”
- Math Teacher Mrs. Angela DeKeyrel stated, “I've had the pleasure of teaching Teresa for 3 consecutive years and she has a bubbly, friendly personality that lights up the room. She is currently in Calculus and does a great job.”
- Dance Coach Mrs. Lauren Stegmiller added, “Teresa is a standout dancer on the Rockettes! She has been a pleasure to coach on the Rockridge Dance Team throughout her junior and senior year. Her high kicks are a site to see, as she is most definitely the highest kicker on the team. Not only is she a knockout dancer, but she is also a very talented tumbler. Teresa plays a major role as a leading senior on the Turning Pointe competitive dance team. Her dedication to the studio has proven that she can handle a coaching position at our studio, and she is a great role model for our younger tumblers. She is the last of the 4 Harris sisters to leave the studio this year as she graduates. Her friendship and sense of humor will be missed, but I am excited for her future. Congrats on earning student of the month, and keep on keeping on!!”
Next year Teresa plans to attend the University of West Florida in Pensacola to major in accounting.
