
Mrs Robinson’s 1st grade class (ICE) has been learning about Early World Civilizations. We made the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and used salt dough for clay tablets for cuneiform writing.

All Rockridge Schools will dismiss at 11:30 am on Friday, October 11th for a School Improvement Day.


The second graders in Mrs. Sours's and Miss Johnson's classes took advantage of the warm weather and read books with their reading buddies outside today!











Illinois City Elementary students are beginning to harvest their popcorn! Once we are done harvesting, each student will get to take an ear home to pop!




2024-2025 Rocket Fuel Wrestling Club

Where at: High School Cafeteria
What time: 5:30-7:00pm
Ages: K‐4th Grades
Cost: $60 per wrestler. This includes a club shirt and free entry into Rockridge tournament.
GENERAL INFORMATION
*Season will begin on Monday, Nov 4th and run until March 29th.
*Practices will be held on Monday's and Wednesday's from 5:30-7:00.
(Optional Friday practice will begin after the New Year)
*Open to both boys and girls.
*Practices will be held in the Jr. High Gym.

National Drug Take Back Day is October 26th. Rock Island County residents can drop off unused prescription medications at several QC locations. See the flyer for details.


The 2nd Graders at Illinois City celebrated the end of their Ancient Chinese Civilizations unit by making Chinese dragon masks. They did a great job!



Illinois City/Buffalo Prairie firefighters are the best! we started our fire safety afternoon with pizza for the firefighters, recess with the students, and then off to the fire station to learn more about fire safety.











A great big THANK YOU goes out to the volunteers of the Illinois City and Buffalo Prairie Fire Departments who hosted today's Fire Safety Day. The students received important information and had fun in a dynamic hands-on experience. What a great afternoon!

The Rockridge Boosters are holding their Dueling Pianos fundraiser on October 26th at the Reynolds Legion and still have tables to sell. Deadline for registration is October 6th. Please see the attached flyer for information.
Proceeds from events such as this enable the Rockridge Booster Club to donate more than $50,000 annually to support students in ALL extra-curricular activities. Your participation will help us make a real difference! Come join in the fun, reserve your table, and help support our students.

Congratulations to Mrs. Katy Hasson for being selected as Employee of the Month by the RIROE!!! Regional Office Superintendent Tammy Muerhoff presented Mrs. Hasson the award this morning.


The Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church is collecting gently used coats, hats, mittens, and scarves to help those in need in our community. If you have any to share, please drop them off at the Edgington Church by Nov 3. All sizes are needed, but especially children’s sizes.
If you have questions, or if your child is in need of a coat, please contact the church office at 309-795-1713 and we will be more than happy to help you. Some coats will be available through the NHS Rocket Closet or you can stop by the Edgington Church on Sat Nov 11 between 9:00 and 11:00am.
